The Blessed Month
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. It commemorates the first revelation of the Qur'an to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Fasting (Sawm)
Suhoor (Pre-dawn Meal)
Eat before dawn to prepare for the day of fasting. Suhoor is a blessed meal that provides energy for the day.
Time: Approximately 1 hour before Fajr prayer
Iftar (Breaking Fast)
Break your fast at sunset with dates and water, followed by prayer and a balanced meal.
Time: At Maghrib sunset prayer
Exemptions
Fasting is not required for children, elderly, pregnant women, those who are ill, or traveling.
Prayer During Ramadan
Taraweh Prayers
Special nightly prayers performed after Isha during Ramadan. Join us at our locations for community prayers.
Time: 7:30 PM at both locations
Qur'an Recitation
Ramadan is the month of the Qur'an. Many Muslims complete reading the entire Qur'an during this month.
Increased Worship
Ramadan is a time for increased prayer, charity, and spiritual reflection. Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the last ten nights.
Spiritual Practices
Zakat & Sadaqah
Give charity generously during Ramadan. Zakat al-Fitr is due before Eid prayer to help those in need.
Dhikr (Remembrance)
Increase remembrance of Allah through prayers, supplications, and seeking forgiveness.
Community & Family
Strengthen family bonds and community ties through shared iftars and prayers.
Health & Wellness Tips
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water between Iftar and Suhoor to avoid dehydration during the day.
Balanced Nutrition
Eat wholesome foods at Suhoor and Iftar. Include complex carbs, proteins, and vegetables.
Adequate Rest
Ensure proper sleep to maintain energy levels for fasting and worship.
